Jada was lost.
A high school student, like so many, coming out of a pandemic and confused about her future. As a high achieving student she knew she was capable of reaching success but the path to get her there was blurred with confusion, pressure, and uncertainty.
“Should I go to college? Maybe there's a trade for me? Or maybe I should just take a gap year?”
These far reaching questions kept repeating in her mind. The anxiety of not knowing began to keep her up at night as she begged for the answer to just appear like the answer to an algebra equation.
And she wasn’t sure who to turn to for help? Growing up in a single family home, her mother worked long hours leaving Jada to navigate many of these life decisions on her own.
Jada’s uncertainty about her path forward could have easily led to procrastination, anxiety, or even depression. Fortunately, she decided to take action. And that’s when she found Major Choice.
Staring down graduation in less than 18 months, she knew she had to figure things out.
Unfortunately, visits to her school counselors office were of no help and only heightened her confusion. Though the counselors tried, her lack of knowledge about herself and careers fueled her indecision.
It was all driven by the fear of making the wrong decision leading to the wrong college or degree, costing her $10’s of thousands of dollars and years of time!
Jada’s uncertainty about her future could have easily led to her hiding in her parents basement, procrastinating, and slipping into depression. Fortunately, she decided to take her future into her own hands. And that’s when she found Major Choice.

And through our proprietary sorting and sifting exercises, you’ll begin narrowing down careers to discover the perfect match for you!
- Outreach - You’ll verify that this is the career for you by speaking to professionals currently employed in your prospective dream job! Through templates, instructions, and interview questions you’re 100% prepared to interview professionals and impress them (many students land internships through this mission).
Each mission consists of fun, thought provoking exercises and videos for the student and mentor that help structure the process of figuring out the students educational path and next steps. Mentors are an essential piece to the PathFinding™ process to ensure students are being true to themselves without the weight of peer, societal, and parental pressure.
Jada took this journey with Major Choice and after a short 6 week process, everything changed. Her outlook. Her demeanor. Her confidence. It all turned . . . positive.
She was beginning to visualize her future and see her success. Life goals began to fall into place and the steps to get there were suddenly appearing.
It was on a call with a successful business owner that Jada made the decision that the path for her was entrepreneurialism. She has since graduated high school and is now attending Oregon State while majoring in their Innovation and Entrepreneurship program. We were honored to be part of the journey and can’t wait to see what amazing change she delivers to the world.
